A SkillsFuture Programme leading to Advanced Professional Qualification (APQ) in Global Business Leadership & International Relations

Singapore’s most valuable resource is our human resource. In order to thrive in a global knowledge economy, we must continually strengthen the capacity of this key resource in order for us to stay competitive and sustain strong economic growth for Singapore.

At the national level, we have implemented programmes such as the Workforce Skills Qualifications programme as well as the Inclusive Growth programme with the main objective of helping strengthen the economic resilience of our employees and businesses through continual training and skills development. In order to achieve that objective, our government has been a pro-active partner that continually collaborates with all industry stakeholders.

Human Capital Singapore’s partnership with Georgetown University to launch the inaugural Advanced Professional Qualification in Global Business Leadership and International Relations is a significant step in supporting the Singapore SkillsFuture Agenda. Well-designed programmes such as these aim to develop, equip and hone the skills required for our enterprise leaders to continue to stay relevant and competitive.

I am glad that Human Capital Singapore continues to play an active role in value adding to the development of our business community through providing quality continuing education and training. As a sign of HCS’ commitment to reach out to the different segments of our business community, the simultaneous interpretation and translation (into Chinese language) of the programme’s training sessions and materials will benefit our Chinese-speaking business fraternity.

I note with a sense of humility, the passion for capability development amongst enterprise owners, especially SMEs and corporate leaders. This same passion was what the pioneer generation leaders possessed. And this passion made Singapore what it is today. I trust that those on-board this programme will continue to take inspiration from our pioneer leaders and aspire to break new ground in time to come.
