If you missed our Skills for Success events, here’s a quick recap…

Having Difficult Conversations – 4th August

Who knew talking about the tricky stuff could be so empowering? Steve Hallett ’s session gave us the tips we need to tackle those tough conversations with confidence and kindness. We’re all set to face those conversations head-on!

“We have a moral obligation as leaders to give criticism and feedback appropriately.”

Supporting Compassionate Leave – 9th August

Compassion is the name of the game, and FRANCES OSMAN-NEWBURY ’s session taught us how to have each other’s backs during tough times. We’ve learned how to create a work environment that sticks within the guidelines but also puts the person first.

“Compassion is defined as an empathetic, emotional response to another person’s pain or suffering that moves people to act in a way that will either ease the person’s condition or make it more bearable.”

Using Inclusive Language – 17th August

Andy Harsent ’s session was all about being confident with our words. We discovered the importance of inclusive language and how using the right words can create an atmosphere of unity and respect. Everyone left the session feeling empowered and ready to work towards a fully inclusive working environment.

“Language to describe?things?is decided by the people doing the describing. Language to describe?people?should be decided by the people being described.”

Enhancing your Leadership Mindset – 22nd August

We closed the curtain with a bang with Nicki Crowhurst - HOW2HR Ltd diving into the world of leadership, no matter where you stand on the organisational chart. This session was all about unlocking the superhero leader within us and thinking positive regard and genuineness from a leadership point of view.

“Genuineness means you are able to express your feelings and tell the truth about your reaction to the other person’s behaviour."
