Garcia's wife and he launched New Path Construction and Consulting in May 2016. A first-generation college student, Garcia graduated with honors from DePaul University with a degree in Management and a concentration in Entrepreneurship.
After graduating, Garcia was hired by Bank of America to work in its Analyst Program, where he focused on healthcare. Later, he moved into Middle Market Leveraged Finance, where he spent nearly 4 years learning how to properly analyze business trends and build sustainable turnaround strategies. Garcia became exceedingly passionate about individual businesses and wanted to spend more time on general corporate strategy. As such, he left the bank to pursue roles in internal mergers and acquisitions (M&A) groups for both public and private companies, where he was able to hone his communication skills and general business acumen.
Garcia's wife Alexa has a serious passion for commercial general contracting and her own clients. When the business she was employed at previously went through restructuring, Garcia offered to start a business for her. They spent time researching the industry, conducting informational interviews, and speaking with prospective clients to understand how they viewed general contractors. Together, they launched New Path Construction and Consulting.
Garcia has always recognized that his parents are hard-working people. His dad, a serial entrepreneur, and his mom, who worked for different corporations, always discussed the complexities of running a business, which motivated him want to learn as much as he can about business. He also wondered why some people are so successful while others can’t seem to catch a break. Answering this question has become a life-long pursuit.
