1. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

In fact, the consensus was less work, and more communication is better than more work and less communication. Consider the following:

  • Internal Communications?– As part of your job, you should plan a cadence for internal communications. There are several ways you can implement this into your workflow.
  • Proactive?– Being proactive in communication is critical for career success. Your manager does not want to be surprised.
  • Clear?– If you want people to understand you, you have to be clear in your communications. The way you share your information has to be clear and concise. communicating.?

2. INTENTIONAL LEARNING

  • Critical Thinking?– Managers want people who possess strong critical thinking skills. This means you can take information and analyze it.
  • Problem Solver?– Your manager wants you to bring them solutions when problems arise. When you are an intentional learner, you make it a point to figure out how you can solve a problem rather than hoping your manager knows what to do.
  • Growth Mindset?– As an intentional learner, you must have a growth mindset. This means believing you are capable of learning something new.

Intentional learning will help you as you move throughout your career. You have to be competent in today’s technology tools to achieve career success.???

3. BE A TEAM BUILDER

During the Soulcast Media | LIVE, James said being a team builder is a critical skill for career success. Being a team builder means genuinely caring about the success of someone else. To be a team builder, you must be seen as credible, valuable, and always looking for ways to boost connectivity.?

Consider the following:

  • Credibility?– Credibility needs to be continually earned. To build credibility and trust, you must continually communicate the process – tell people what you are doing to avoid surprises. The other thing you need to do is take action. When you are credible, others can trust you to do the work. This will help you be a team builder because the rest of the team can count on you.
  • Connectivity?– Being a team builder means connecting with other people. One way to do this is to have a positive mindset.
  • Be Valuable?– As a team builder, you want to ensure you are valuable to the team. One way you can do this is by helping someone.

Being a team builder requires you to think outside of yourself. When you genuinely care about the success of others, you can find ways to connect and be valuable.?

Becoming an effective communicator, intentionally learning, and being a team builder will help you achieve your career goals.?
