Skill Stacking
Jordan Harbinger said it best, but only now am I beginning to realize the truth in his words. "Niche" is just another word for a specific combination of skills that someone realized was profitable.
My idea for The Magic in the Combination comes from a few different concepts in my life, one of them being my dad saying "imagine a lawyer with a chemistry specialty... he will never have to worry about job security" (I am paraphrasing).
The Magic in the Combination could be translated into many different phrases... skill stacking, master your niche, or just unique experiences that form the basis of your skills.
You never know what skills will come in handy or where: yesterday I just recommended a print shop that I use for my artwork prints to a company that wants to print CPR posters -- I could not have predicted that those pieces of knowledge would intertwine, but you never know.
If you feel like the skills you are learning now are useless, or that you are in a dead-end job or are somewhere you don't think will be useful in the future, think again. The skills you learn on a daily basis wherever you are will come back around... the combination of all these skills and experiences is what makes you your own niche!
Find your niche, find your combination (and yes, it will take time), and then leverage the hell out of it.
My stack of skills includes entrepreneurship, social media and digital marketing, mental health troubles, surmounting an eating disorder, anxiety, tons of experience with exercise and classic "health" practices, and most of all art.
What is your stack of skills? What is your magic combination?
