Expanding Capabilities Through Acquisition
To enhance its market position, Skaza has acquired Vidergar, a tool shop specializing in machine automation and final packaging, along with a company producing strategic components for the electrical industry. “These acquisitions position us as a strategic supplier and strengthen competitiveness across our group,” emphasizes Niko Medved, Deputy Director of Skaza.
“The Skaza and Vidergar families have collaborated for two generations, making this acquisition a natural step forward. For our company, it means new growth opportunities, access to a broader market, and additional resources while preserving family values,” says Robert Vidergar about the acquisition.
In-House Tool Shop by 2027
Skaza plans to establish its own tool shop by 2027 to enhance flexibility, speed, and cost-efficiency. “This move ensures direct control over tooling, reducing costs and improving responsiveness,” explains Niko Medved, Deputy Director of Skaza.
Vidergar’s expertise in high-quality tool design makes it the ideal partner, with an annual revenue of €700,000. “By 2027, we expect tooling revenue to exceed €3 million,” adds Dr. Urban Fegu?, Director of Strategic Development and Innovation.
The "One-Stop Shop" Approach
Skaza’s vision includes vertical integration, from material development to injection molding and automation. “This allows us to provide end-to-end solutions for our clients, improving flexibility and reducing lead times,” explains Dr. Urban Fegu?.
Employee Benefits
The new tool shop will create job opportunities for toolmakers, CNC operators, engineers, and technologists. “Employees in these roles will directly impact production improvements, product quality, and innovation, ensuring long-term job security,” says Dr. Urban Fegu?.
By 2026, Skaza will have five dedicated toolmakers, expanding to 15 by 2027. Investments in employee training and upskilling will ensure access to the latest tool-making technologies, enhancing career growth and development opportunities.
Sustainability and Competitive Edge
By optimizing tool design, Skaza will reduce material waste, extend tool lifespan, and minimize transport emissions. “This strengthens our role as a development supplier, providing greater stability for partners while reducing CO? emissions,” says Dr. Urban Fegu?.
Impact on Local and Global Markets
This strategic move simplifies processes for multinational clients while fostering job creation and economic growth in local communities. Skaza’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and long-term success ensures a competitive advantage for the company and its partners.
