Security ‘speed dating’
Gary Harmer , Sales Director at Hikvision UK & Ireland , reflects on the company’s successful new format for its Autumn Insight Roadshow in 2024.
The main takeaway was the positive reception of our new event format, which received uniformly enthusiastic feedback.
We refreshed things a bit this time around, introducing a ‘speed dating’ format which saw the more traditional technical PowerPoint presentations replaced with concise 10-minute introductions to new opportunities in vertical markets, as well as new products and solutions.??
Attendees moved around the topic areas in small groups, learning the features, applications and benefits of our offerings in eight sectors: Industrial & Power, Healthcare, Retail, Video Entry, Access Control, Car Parks & EV, Commercial Display and Public Space security.
Protecting people and infrastructure
Mark Devall, Solutions Manager – HVM at Hill & Smith Barriers , explains the importance of Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) and how these solutions could develop in the future.
Hostile Vehicle Mitigation is physical security put in place to prevent potential attacks by vehicle threats such as cars, lorries and Large Goods Vehicle’s (LGV), the main barriers for this are static, automatic or removable bollards, wire rope systems, fencing gates and barriers.?
HVM facilitates authorised access of vehicles through access control points, alternatively denying unauthorised access into specific buildings, commercial assets, data centres, etc.??
Temporary products are available for events such as Royal celebrations, festivals, parades and sporting events, these products are generally deployed prior to the event and collected on completion, opening the space back to its intended purpose.?
Project Focus: Mimecast unveils advancement to partner program
Mimecast has revealed an advancement to its partner program with the launch of Partner ONE MSP Program.
According to the company, the Partner ONE MSP Program is built to deliver a consistent and scalable partner experience for managed service providers (MSPs) by providing partners with the support they need to grow, evolve, differentiate and amplify their business via a predictable and simplified program with clear requirements and performance-based pathways.
At the same time, Mimecast is unlocking new partner experiences through MSP APIs, powering a stronger go-to-market strategy, complete with new products and pricing.
Product Focus: Milestone Systems introduces latest XProtect update
Milestone Systems has enhanced cloud connectivity and the care plus experience with the release of the R2 2024 update for its XProtect platform.
According to the company, this release introduces XProtect Remote Manager, a cloud-connected service that enhances the value of Care Plus subscriptions.
The update also includes improvements to user experience and expanded language support.
As organisations increasingly seek flexible, efficient ways to manage their video security systems, Milestone is expanding the value of its Care Plus subscription.
