The rise and rise of mobile credentials
James Ensten , VP of Sales (USA), at Integrated Control Technology (ICT) explores the continuing growth in mobile credentials and looks at what we might see in the year ahead.
For years, industry professionals have been talking about how mobile credentials will change access control and security.
Lately, it seems an increasing number of end-users are catching on to this too, so after a decade, we may have finally reached a tipping point.
The mobile access control credentials market is set to reach over $750 million by 2028, up from a revenue of only $295 million in 2022 – a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 17%. Read more here...
Personal safety for healthcare staff
Healthcare employers are transforming the way they provide safety for home-visiting staff, writes Darren Chalmers-Stevens, Group Chief Operating Officer of CriticalArc .
Healthcare professionals working remotely, including those carrying out home visits, travelling between locations and working in community clinics, are at an increased risk of harm compared with their colleagues based in large hospitals.

The role of AI-powered anomaly detection in transport security
Transport security can be revolutionized through the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and anomaly detection, writes Ken LaMarca , CEO of Active Intelligence .
Transportation facilities serve as the central nervous system for modern cities, providing indispensable infrastructure for the daily lives of residents, commuters and visitors.
These dynamic hubs, essential in the seamless movement of people and goods, inevitably face evolving security challenges due to their public nature and often limited security screening measures.
While surveillance systems employing traditional video analytics solutions have been deployed to solve these challenges, they come with limitations and complex setup requirements. Discover more...

"This is a fairly new project for Moderna," said Bouffard.
"I was aware that these robotic drones and this technology were available within the security industry; Boston Dynamics are the manufacturers of the Spot robot and Asylon Robotics has developed additional hardware, software and a 24/7 intelligence center for operating the security robots.
"When looking at our overall security strategy, I considered how to leverage and integrate certain technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to become more efficient in what we do." Continue reading...

Multinational financial institution, Davivienda, has implemented HID Global - Formally Lumidigm Mobile Access credential technology, along with physical iCLASS Seos cards and the HID Origo credential management platform, to upgrade its access control system in Colombia.
HID Singo 20 and iCLASS SE R10 readers were chosen to secure doors, gates and networks, with?credentials stored on mobile devices.??
The change means employees can access different bank spaces by using a short-range gesture (tap) or “Twist & Go” gesture, minimizing the risk of credential loss, as people are less likely to lend or misplace their smartphone.??
