The Sixth Secret of AI
“The five senses are the ministers of the soul.” ?
This famous quote by Leonardo da Vinci illuminates the sixth secret of AI: the integration of the senses will unleash a new Renaissance. I came across the quote in Michael Gelb’s 1998 book “How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci: Seven Steps to Genius Every Day”, which I was inspired to read earlier in my career after returning from a month of studying Italian in Verona. In his chapter on Sensazione, he writes: ?
“Though vision and hearing were at the head of Leonardo’s sensory hierarchy, he valued, practiced, and encouraged the refinement of all senses.” ?
OpenAI’s integration of the senses of sight and sound into ChatGPT, a right and left-brained genius like Leonardo da Vinci, will unlock the value of generative AI on a deeper level.
Note: This thesis builds on last week's article "From Fermi to da Vinci" and my recent research report, "The Five Secrets of AI". It is an except from the introduction to the 8-page research note I published on September 26 for my institutional investment and corporate clients.
Innovating Ways to Improve Human Connection
1 年Love this. Barbara Gray - I am heading to Ravenna, IT to take a mosaic class at the university with a Master Mosaicist in the place where it all started. I want to add the tactile understanding of making a mosaic to my now metaphorical view of designing strategic narratives. My current curiosity project is working with a UX/UI AI designer to build the 21st-century portrait approach into my work.
