1)     Be credible. Establish trust right off the bat.

When your customers and clients place their trust in you, they are more likely to buy products or services from you. When you win their trust, you can be in a position to fetch a higher price and add to the customer’s lifetime value. Don’t sell a solution that’s not in the customer’s interest. Don’t promise anything that you won’t be able to deliver.

2)     Under-promise and over-deliver.

This one is taking the advice “Don’t promise anything that you won’t be able to deliver” a step further. Strive for providing excellent customer service and satisfaction by doing more than you say you will - exceed the customer’s expectations.

3)     Treat your employees well.

If you treat your employees well, there are chances that they will, in turn, treat your customers well. Ask your employees what they want, make it convenient for them to come up with their feedback, and be receptive to the idea of discussing things such as their pay with them.

4)     Make it convenient for your customers to do business with you.

Do things with their convenience uppermost in your mind, not yours. The easier you can make things for them, the more business you will gain — zero in on all the ways you can do away with the “difficulties.”

5)     Become a resource for your client.

In the light of what your client needs, make an earnest effort to find it, even if that means going out of the way and on the face of it, does nothing to add to your bottom line.

6)     Communication is vital.

Be accessible to the customers and allow them to connect with you. Once you’ve carved out your niche in the market, take special care as far as your communication is concerned - among other things, it’s about responding as fast as possible to their SMS, email, or message on social media.
