Six Thoughts on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

There is a lack of understanding about #veterans and #PTSD, which often leads to misjudgment and misunderstanding. As June is PTSD awareness month, I thought that I would share six quick thoughts on the subject.

If you don't have much time, you can check out a short video giving you the basics here. If you have more time and are interested more about my thoughts on the subject, you can check out the full post by following this link. Once you're there, feel free to poke around some more to check out other thoughts on #VeteranMentalHealth, and sign up for updates in order to join a community having an honest and meaningful conversation about the mental health and wellness of those who have served our nation.

The Head Space and Timing Blog is supported by the Colorado Veterans Health and Wellness Agency, a 501(c)3 Nonprofit in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The goal of the CVHWA is to provide military culturally competent mental health counseling to veterans and their spouses, regardless of characterization of discharge, time of service, or era of service. Our vision is to assist veterans to identify and remove barriers to their mental, physical, emotional, and behavioral wellness. For questions or inquiries, contact us!
