As of August 2019, we are glad to announce our collaboration between United States Army Personnel and International Six Sigma Institute?.
The primary goal of the Six Sigma process improvement framework is to improve efficiency and reduce wastes. Although it isn't a commercially motivated organization, the Army of the United States has always been thriving towards these goals as well.
They tirelessly work to improve unit activity throughput per personnel and get the best use out of their budget by reducing their wastes wherever and whenever possible.
Therefore, since October 2013, US Army Personnel and International Six Sigma Institute? have been in close collaboration. The chief mission of this collaboration is to educate and certify US Army Personnel by leveraging Six Sigma Institute accreditations.
Yearly more than 9,000 US Army Personnel have been certifying themselves with various Six Sigma accreditations from International Six Sigma Institute?.
Some of these Six Sigma programs provided for our students from US Army Personnel include:
- Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt? (CSSYB?)
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt? (CSSGB?)
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt? (CSSBB?)
- Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt? (CSSMBB?)
- Certified Six Sigma Deployment Leader? (CSSDL?)
- Certified Six Sigma Champion? (CSSC?)
- Certified Six Sigma Trainer? (CSSTRA?)
- Certified Six Sigma Coach? (CSSCOA?)
SGM Richard Riccio from 353d Civil Affairs Command, Staten Island NY, US Army, described this ongoing collaboration with the following statement:
A little over a year ago, I was given a link by a United States Army colleague for the Six Sigma Institute. This link was sent to many of us in hopes that we would take advantage of the opportunity. I looked into the programs and found them extremely user-friendly and very practical.
As a result, I decided to start with the Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt (CSSYB) and Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) certification programs. From there, I eventually completed the other certifications as well.
Several months ago, while attending a military course at Fort Knox, one of the main instructors took about 20 minutes to explain these programs to the students in the class. He had also achieved Six Sigma certifications.
The main instructor explained to the class that: After he completed his Certified Six Sigma Black Belt certification program from Six Sigma Institute, he received numerous job offers that include a prestigious position at Amazon Incorporation.
It is no secret that the United States Army utilizes Six Sigma Certification Programs from International Six Sigma Institute? on a regular basis.
It is cost-effective and gets straight to the point. I often tout this program to peers, and I will continue to do so.
--- SGM Richard Riccio, 353d Civil Affairs Command, Staten Island NY, US Army
And here is another testimonial from SGT Brenton M. Kirk, Supply NCO, 560th MCGA, US Army:
I’m in the United States Army in South Korea. If you work in the process improvement unit, you've no doubt heard of the Six Sigma Green Belt exam. Don't let this exam become an obstacle! I made it.
This examination can be completed with proper preparation. When I get out the US Army after I retire one day I see myself being a Warehouse Operations Manager.
This is a step toward my goal. Thank you Six Sigma Institute family for their service.
--- SGT Brenton M. Kirk, Supply NCO, 560th MCGA, US Army
