How did you find out about DELSCI?

As a paper technology master's student at Munich University of Applied Sciences, getting to know well-known and successful companies and research institutes active in this industry is an important part of our master's journey. I heard about DELSCI from one of my professors at university and from my friends.??

What are your first impressions @ DELSCI ?

When I first started looking into DELSCI, their young, talented team of scientists and product developers from various fields of research and science, with the singular goal of replacing plastic with paper that works even harder while also protecting the environment, greatly impressed me. This encourages me a lot to do my best for the team and make it more sustainable and always do best to reach the goals of DELSCI.??

What interests you most in this industry?

The food packaging industry is an important sector in addressing the primary problem of sustainability and waste reduction. A large amount of paper used globally is for food packaging. Therefore, I found it extremely exciting to do research on food packaging because not only we can directly affect people's quality of life since people deal with different food packaging in their daily lives, but we can also have a significant impact to preserve our nature. I think that the enormous market for food packaging has the potential to improve or worsen our quality of life and the environment, therefore we must pay attention to it.

Why paper?

My bachelor's degree was in mechanical engineering. My state is a major producer of sugarcane, which generates a ton of garbage known as bagasse. I became interested in paper technology because my hometown city, an Industry, manufacturing base paper from bagasse and trying to make the environment more sustainable. Which encouraged me a lot and through that I decided to do my master in paper and become part of a team to protect the environment.?

What do you like most about your internship so far ?

My internship is part of a recyclability test and I found more interesting about the investigation of the recyclability of barrier papers and analysis of papers about to determine which factor is influenced to the recyclability.???

What are your plans for the coming year?

During the period of my internship, I would love to improve my knowledge under the topic of my internship and try my best to learn as much as I can from a great team of DELSCI. I would like to learn more in the coming year about various coating applications, barrier materials, and the recyclability behavior of paper for various applications to be able to get ready and participate in this enormous market in the near future
