Six Medicaid Directors Selected for the 14th Class of the Medicaid Leadership Institute
Center for Health Care Strategies
Better care where it's needed most
Six Medicaid directors — from?Arizona, Georgia, New Mexico, Texas, Vermont, and Wisconsin?— have been competitively selected to participate in the Medicaid Leadership Institute (MLI). This Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded executive training initiative, led by the Center for Health Care Strategies’ (CHCS), provides Medicaid directors and their leadership teams from across the country with a unique opportunity to strengthen the skills and expertise needed to transform Medicaid agencies and advance policy to positively impact the health of their residents.
“Medicaid programs ensure access to crucial health services, particularly for those who face significant barriers to well-being, and Medicaid leaders play an essential role in driving its success,” said Mark Larson, senior vice president at CHCS, former Vermont Medicaid director, and Class of 2014 MLI Fellow. “We are thrilled to welcome this year’s class of dedicated Medicaid directors and their teams, and look forward to working with them over the next year as they lead their programs, which are so important to the well-being of millions of people across the nation.”
This new cohort of MLI is the 14th class of Medicaid directors chosen for this prestigious executive training opportunity. Since 2009, 83 directors in 47 Medicaid agencies from across the political spectrum have participated in the program.
