Six LinkedIn changes that could have a positive impact on your business

LinkedIn can be a powerful tool for your B2B business, if utilised correctly. Today we will explore six LinkedIn changes that could not only help increase your business's reach but help ideal clients find you!

LinkedIn Cover Story Video Example.

1.?Cover videos?appear at the top of your LinkedIn profile and traditionally would feature an image of you. However, now profile photos can help your ideal clients get to know you better.

LinkedIn now allows you to create 30-second-long videos introducing yourself and your business offering. It’s important to note that users will only be able to view your cover story if they have this feature enabled themselves.

Cover videos are an excellent way for potential clients or customers to understand your business within a small amount of time, while also getting to know you better.

How creator profiles appear.

2.?Creator mode?is perfect for those who regularly share content. To build your credibility and become a thought leader within your industry all you have to do is ‘switch on’ creator mode, which can be found in the dashboard section of your profile.

There are a few changes you’ll notice once you have creator mode switched on.

·?Firstly, the connect button on your profile will change to a follow button.

·?You can feature hashtags within your intro card that will indicate the topics you are a thought leader in.

·?A ‘Feature’ and ‘Activity’ section will appear at the top of your profile.

·?Your recent content will appear in the Activity section and will no longer show likes or comments.

3.?Service pages?will be your best friend if you offer a B2B or a B2C service. This powerful tool allows you to create a dedicated service page on your profile to communicate how you can benefit those within your niche.

A huge benefit that comes with this feature is the ability to make your services discoverable through search engines. Increasing your business's reach has never been easier!

4.?Audio Chat Rooms (in development)?is an audio chat application, similar to Clubhouse. LinkedIn is planning on cloning the audio networking app, that proved popular during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rumour has it that LinkedIn’s audio room will take networking to a whole new level.

5.?Get discovered on Google?with LinkedIn newsletters. Users can now create and publish newsletters within LinkedIn. This feature allows you to increase your authority and build your audience.

Users can invite connections or followers to subscribe to newsletters. Subscribers will receive app push notifications or email notifications when a new newsletter is published. This feature sits perfectly with creator mode.

But the best feature about LinkedIn newsletters is that it allows your content to be discoverable on search engines. Again, vastly increasing your business's reach.

6. Face-to-face meetings,?are they a thing of the past? While it’s great to meet connections in person, we can’t deny that virtual face-to-face meetings are here to stay. And LinkedIn agrees. LinkedIn has added a “Start a Meeting” feature within the social networking platform.

LinkedIn members can start a face-to-face online chat using Microsoft Teams, BlueJeans or Zoom directly in your LinkedIn messages. Users can share a unique link with participants or schedule a meeting for later.
