I am a Business English Teacher and podcaster helping entrepreneurs create global opportunities. As a Croatian native speaker and entrepreneur myself, I understand the journey of mastering English for business firsthand. With a Master's in Education and CELTA certification, I've guided over 1,000 learners to improve their business communication, especially in areas like international networking, sales presentations, and negotiations.

How did you focus specifically on entrepreneurs and visibility coaching?

My own entrepreneurial journey naturally led me to focus on helping entrepreneurs, especially skilled professionals—often women—held back by imposter syndrome and perfectionism rather than language barriers. Coming from Croatia, I saw how business owners from smaller countries often struggle to access international opportunities despite their talent. This inspired me to combine Business English teaching with visibility coaching, empowering them to overcome linguistic and psychological barriers and shine globally.

What inspired you to start the "Seen and Heard" podcast?

The "Seen and Heard" podcast began during WorkShowUP workshops led by Vi?nja ?eljeznjak, evolving from audio lives with my co-host Darko Mare? into a video series on LinkedIn, YouTube, and soon Spotify. We focus on helping entrepreneurs, especially non-native English speakers, grow their market presence—me through English for global networking and Darko through photography and video. By sharing guest stories and overcoming our own introverted tendencies, we show that stepping into the spotlight is more achievable than it seems.

What are the main visibility challenges you see language teachers struggling with?

The biggest challenges for language teachers often stem from our helping nature, especially for women in education, who are conditioned to stay in the background and let students shine. While this works in the classroom, it creates tension when we need to promote our businesses, as many hesitate to share successes or services, fearing it might seem like bragging. Navigating social media requires courage and resilience, but the key is balancing our nurturing identity with confidently showcasing our expertise.

Why should language teachers prioritize building their visibility and confidence?

Being visible through content creation, speaking, or social media lets us reach far more students than a traditional classroom ever could. By confidently building our visibility, we attract ideal clients, create fulfilling work, and command better rates for sustainable businesses. Most importantly, we model the confidence and communication skills we encourage in our students, showing them how to use language boldly on the global stage.

Did you know there is a way for our students to highlight words in texts?

  1. Paste your text into the Table. You can remove extra rows and columns leaving only one box
  2. Share the lesson with a student by clicking "Send to Student" and sending them the link
  3. In class, ask the student to highlight a word or a phrase in the text in the Table and use hotkeys to make it bold or cursive
  4. For Windows: Сtrl+B for bold text, Сtrl+I for cursive
  5. For Mac: Сmd+B for bold text, Cmd+I for cursive
