Six Degrees of Consultation: Networking Your Way to the Top

Six Degrees of Consultation: Networking Your Way to the Top

In business, the adage "You're as good as the company you keep" is not just idle chit-chat; it's as firm a principle as the handshake of a seasoned dealmaker. Nowhere is this more evident than in the world of business consultancy, non-executive meddlings, and the polished floors of professional services firms.

Consider the life of a consultant; as diverse as the clients they serve, but as specific as the solutions they provide. Their secret weapon is not just their wit or wisdom; it's their Rolodex (yes, I do remember rolodex - just!) of contacts. Enter the VNXD Operator Network, not just a who's who of the corporate world but a veritable goldmine of over 17,000 high-flying board contacts. It's like having the Avengers of the business world on speed dial! When a consultant taps into this network, they're not just bringing their A-game; they're bringing a Dream Team to the table.

Now, let's talk about non-executives. These are the wise owls of the boardroom, perched high with years of experience. Sometimes used to steer companies away from troubled waters. But even these wise birds know that in the world of business, it's not just what you know, but who you know.

That's where the magic of degrees of separation comes into play.

It's said everyone in the world is separated by just six degrees. In business, however, with tools like the VNXD Operator Network, those degrees shrink exponentially, bringing a world of experience and expertise within a mere click or call.

Professional services firms, those bastions of bespoke solutions, know this better than anyone. They are not just selling services; they're selling networks, connections, and the cumulative expertise of thousands of professionals. Imagine the scene: you're pitching for a hefty client, the kind that makes or breaks fiscal years. You can either go in with your team, or you can march in with an army of 17,000 experts, each a master in their field, ready to lend their knowledge. The competing pitch doesn't stand a chance! It's like turning up to a knife fight armed with a bazooka!

Picture the look on the competitor's face when you casually drop that your team includes everyone from ex-CEOs to power brokers of Wall Street, and perhaps even that chap who invented the internet (just kidding, or are we?). It's not just a pitch at this point; it's a mic drop moment.

In the pursuit of business excellence, remember that your strength lies not just in your knowledge or skill, but in the illustrious company you keep. With networks like Virtualnonexecs, you're not just building a team; you're constructing an empire, one expert at a time.

So, next time you walk into that boardroom, remember, you're not alone. You're standing on the shoulders of giants, or better yet, you're bringing them along for the ride! And that, dear reader, is no laughing matter... or perhaps, it's the best kind there is.

The idea of six degrees of separation came from literature, not science, but was developed and became better known as result of the work of a serious psychologist , Stanley Milgram.???That was before the internet .. it probably overestimates ??the number of degrees now.
