Siton DS2 and DS3 Bolting Rigs

Siton is a professional manufacturer of rock bolting rigs since 1992. The DS series mining bolting rigs, including the DS2 and DS3 models, are designed for using in various drift sizes from small to medium. This article discusses the features and cases of Siton's DS2 and DS3 rock drill rigs.

Configuration

1. The boom is retractable and features a fully hydraulically controlled single-arm drilling boom.
2. The bolt head can be customized, it depends on the types of bolts such as split-set, resin grouted, or mixed type. It adopts 2 hydraulic rock drills, 1 for drilling and 1 for handling bolts, and is equipped with rods bank, multi-dimensional mesh manipulator.
3. The feed beam adopts an aluminum alloy frame design and is covered with a stainless-steel protective skin.
4. The hydraulic system is directly controlled by the internationally renowned brand plunger pump, and is equipped with automatic anti-stuck function, brake failure warning and other protection functions.
5. The engine can be selected from Cummins or Yanmar, which meets the National III emission standards.
6. DS2 chassis adopts an internationally renowned brand, travel motor hydrostatic system, four-wheel drive travel system, and articulated steering; DS3 chassis features a centrally articulated frame, hydraulic power steering, four-wheel drive travel system, and a turning angle is ±40 degrees.
7. Rock drills usually come standard with the Woserld M8B/D, with an optional upgrade to a more powerful M10B/D or S14B/D rock drill available for demanding applications.

Features

1. Safety First：Given the inherent risks associated with drilling operations, such as falling rocks, equipment rollover, and the safe loading and unloading of rock bolts, it is crucial to ensure the safety of drill rig operators. Siton addresses these concerns by equipping our rock support drilling rigs with Enclosed Operator Cabs certified for FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure) and ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure), providing robust protection for operators. Additionally, our machines are equipped with SAHR (Spring Applied Hydraulic Release) braking systems and emergency stop buttons, ensuring rapid response to any safety hazards.
2. The retractable type of boom can meet the needs of bolt support operations at various angles. It can support multiple bolts at one stop. The feed beam is flipped 360°, which can drill upward and downward holes. The direct positioning control method can meet the needs of hole operations at any angle of the top and side of the tunnel without dead ends; The boom adopts a unique square cross-section design with strong resistance to bending and torque, and sufficient rigidity to make the boom move smoothly, shake less, and position quickly and accurately. The pins on the drill arm adopt an expansion shaft design, which avoids the possibility of loosening and is safe and easy to disassemble.
3. The chassis adopts universal modular design, which is convenient for equipment maintenance and replacement of spare parts.
4. It equipped with automated drilling cycles, automatic anti-jamming function and a hands-free rod handling system, which can extend the lifetime of the drilling tools. Additionally, the bolting head features a resin conveying system and a mesh handling arm. These components work together to enable the consistent and rapid completion of meshing, drilling, and bolting processes.

DS2 Mining Hydraulic Bolting Drill Rig

Siton DS2 rock bolting rig with long boom design is developed for using in various drift sizes from small to medium. The mining rock support drill can install most common rock bolts like split set or resin bolts from 1.5m to 2.5m length. The suitable cross-sections of the mining rock support drilling rigs are from minimum 2.8m x 2.8m to maximum 5.6m x 5.1m.

DS3 Mining Hydraulic Bolting Drill Rig

Siton DS3 rock support bolting rig is developed for using in various drift sizes from small to medium. The mining bolt-hole drilling rig can install most common rock bolts like split set or resin bolts from 1.5m to 3m length. The suitable cross-sections of the mining rock support drills are from minimum 3.5m x 3.5m to maximum 6m x 6m.

Cases

Project Condition: Phosphate mine, cross section is 3.5x3.5 meters,

Siton bolting rig, equipped with a Woserld hydraulic rock drill, takes 50 seconds to drill a hole of 2 meters deep. Including the time to drill the bolt holes, the total time is 90 seconds.

Project Condition: Metal mine, cross section is 3.5x3.5 meters, high working temperature, Rock Hardness is F6-8

Siton bolting rig, equipped with a Woserld hydraulic rock drill, takes 90 seconds to drill a bolt hole of 1.9 meters deep.

Project Condition: Iron Mine, cross section is 4x3.6 meters.

Siton bolting rig, equipped with a Woserld hydraulic rock drill, takes about 2 minutes and 10 seconds to drill a hole of 2.3 meters deep.

Project Condition: Lead-zinc mine, cross section is 3.8×3.5 meters.
