Sitecore CLI version 4.0.0 now available!
I'm excited to announce the release of Sitecore CLI version 4.0.0! The vision for the CLI is to provide productivity, convenience, automation, and extensibility for development teams and engineers working with the Sitecore Platform.
The new release (v 4.0.0) contains feature updates for the Serialization and Publishing plugins, a new Indexing plugin, and a new ResourcePackaging (Item as Resources) plugin.

For global field exclusions, entries in the sitecore.json file can be made:
For module specific field exclusions, entries in a module.json file can be made:
Serialization now supports Sitecore Role configurations. This allows development teams to pull Sitecore Roles as serialized .yml files which can then be source controlled and pushed across developers and their Sitecore environments.
Additionally we have made several usability improvements and fixes which are detailed in our Release Notes.
Sitecore Publishing - Feature updates
The serialization and publishing plugin now support the ability to specify which publishing target(s) to use during a publish operation. Default is web.
