Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with expertise in Terraform and AWS - contract!

We are seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with expertise in Terraform and AWS infrastructure to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the following key qualifications:

1. Proficiency in Terraform for provisioning AWS infrastructure across diverse environments.
2. Demonstrated experience in re-architecting services for enhanced high availability and resiliency.
3. Strong familiarity with AWS services and platforms.
4. Proven ability to work independently, showing initiative and self-motivation.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Nice-to-have skills include:

1. Experience with CI/CD practices, facilitating seamless integration into pipelines.
2. Knowledge of deploying multi-region architectures to enhance scalability.
3. A mindset inclined towards continuous improvement.

The candidate may report to the COO, CTO, or Chief Innovation Officer, with potential interaction with clients. While a principal consultant will offer support, the candidate will be expected to engage directly with clients.

Preferred experience ranges from 8 to 10 years, with a focus on understanding existing tech setups, configuring infrastructure using Terraform, and ensuring high security standards. The project aims to improve software reliability, quality, and time-to-market.

The SRE will work autonomously, supported by a principal consultant and the client. The technology stack includes Terraform, AWS services, and various tools like SaltStack, GitHub Enterprise, and Jira. While not responsible for application code development, familiarity with Node, Python, shell scripts, and PHP is beneficial.
