Sites 114 and 117 S&D Traffic Management

A few of our lads have now started a book on when l will find my next compliant site. I would have heavy odds against West Northamptonshire Council & North Northamptonshire Council not being the area's where l will find that site. I had a great relationship with S&D Traffic Management a few years ago when we moved Depot to Weedon Bec and actually we supplied staff there for a bit. What you learn about in life is that nobody likes knowledge and not one Traffic Management Company likes to be caught out installing incompetent jobs or taking short cuts. I have kept my mouth shut in relation to S&D Traffic Management for too long and have been witnessing their copious incompetence now for too long without mentioning them, that is over now. From the 117 SITES l have seen just on my way to local shops, suppliers or to Leicester since 6th January ONLY two have been compliant, five of the noncompliant belong to S&D Traffic Management including two in the past week.

This is one company l would not be offering FREE training for as they know it all, individuals who don't even know me believe it is ok to make false statements about my integrity, never to my face though, l am sure you know the type. Let's discuss what is important though as that is the issue here, not playground whispers or veiled threats, l have been hearing things and they are not good but l will wait for factual evidence to voice my opinion. One thing l can state factually in this article is that their attempts at Temporary Traffic Management are far from competent and one site l witnessed last week was dangerous. The installation tonight was incredible, you can judge for yourself. Now, before l post any site that l believe to be incompetent l think to myself is there any chance that a Contract Specification relating to these issues could have been dictated and l come to the same conclusion "not very likely". My thoughts on S&D Traffic Management is this, they are working for the North Northamptonshire Council & West Northamptonshire Council TAX PAYERS and from what l have seen they need a stand down and their Operatives and Management to be re-educated with competent guidance. TAX PAYERS in Northamptonshire are struggling, food bills, utility bills, insurances and fuel are all sky high, services are broken and on top of all that we have risk factors on our roads being elevated by these unprofessional installations.

The WORST thing about Site 117 on my list of shame is that it is one of my trainees who spotted it, proud of him as he knows what is RIGHT and what is WRONG!

Site 115 Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland

I think his name was Tony, nice lad and as such l talked to him on the footway with reference to his site. He was based in Leicester so it was a bit of a trek to the Cheadle area but unluckily l was going to a meeting in the Peak District. There was a lot of issues with his site but l discussed it with him, gave him the correct guidance which he was willing to listen to enthusiastically and l believe he took it onboard. I wish him all the best in the future, one of the more genuine Operatives you meet. Sunbelt, training is still an offer l extend.

Site 116 National Highways & Amey

So, this was the big one last week but after a few threats of an elaborate incursion investigation after my videography and photos from the non restricted Footway Amey decided that a chat might lead to a better outcome. This was a diabolically bad installation full of safety issues, l will not be discussing it anymore as the Amey representative has assured me that individuals will be disciplined and re-educated. I hope this will be the case and l will see what happens down the line. I must remind the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) that it is your responsibility to hold National Highways to account, a FOI will be with you today so a few questions will be asked about all the incidents of account holding that is happening under the Infrastructure Act as l am seeing many. THIS IS TAX PAYERS MONEY.

Double Trouble

I made a post last week where l stated "Plant in the morning and Stoke in the evening". Someone then tells me that its going round that l was posting DOUBLE shifts, ffs l had a great laugh at this as l don't do any Traffic Management these days, my passion is Civil's and an engineering degree. On that day l was building my school for NRSWA training. I am trying to build a little bit everyday, someone accusing me of doing a double after l had gone to Billing Plant for some asphalt then done a two hour shift at football egress that night. I have to be honest it was a treble that day as l washed thirty 12D cones that day also, treble shifting. It's amazing how many people are out to pull my slightest mistake and yet they can't find it, l do love it.
