Sisk off to great start at the Etihad

Sisk have commenced the steel works on the development of the North Stand of Manchester City's home ground, the Etihad Stadium

As the Premier League football season drew to a dramatic close in May, work by Sisk on Manchester City's £300 million development of the Etihad Stadium, home to the newly crowned Premier League Champions, has been continuing at pace.

Following the recent contract signing between Manchester City and Sisk, phase one of the steel works has now commenced on the North Stand. Three out of the four concrete cores for the hotel have are complete, and four out of five tower cranes are now in-situ.

During the off-season, internal works will commence inside the stadium to mitigate any disruption for supporters, before the Premier League returns in August.

Sisk is delighted to have been appointed the construction contractor for two of the UK's most impressive tech projects - and work is underway.

Sisk has been selected to deliver a new £25m building as part of the Diamond-II upgrade for Diamond Light Source (Diamond), the UK’s national synchrotron.

Additionally, Sisk has also been appointed by Moderna as its preferred bidder for the fit-out of its new UK drug substance and manufacturing facility at the Moderna Innovation and Technology Centre (MITC), located on the Harwell Science Campus in Oxfordshire, having began construction on site in January.

Diamond harnesses the power of electrons to produce bright light that scientists can use to study anything from?fossils to jet engines to viruses and vaccines. The?machine?accelerates electrons to near light speeds so that they give off light 10 billion times?brighter than the sun.

Sisk will complete the Diamond Extension Building (DEB) which will be located to the southeast of the existing Diamond Synchrotron building at the Harwell Science Campus.

Initiatives supporting Mental Health Awareness Week

Sisk supported May’s Mental Health Awareness Week across our territories with a series of initiatives running across our projects and offices.

Our site tower crane at the Glass Bottle project in Dublin was lit up green to symbolise the week and the project also saw a talk from former professional boxer, Eric Donovan, who spoke about his experience of working through adversity, building resilience and cultivating mental fortitude. He also spoke at our Vantage Data Centre site in Dublin.

Additionally, our new one-hour mental health awareness training session, Mental Health Matters, was delivered onsite and virtually by our UK Mental Health Lead, Oliver Frois. safeTALK (suicide alertness training) also ran during the month, with sessions in Dublin and Galway.

At Sisk, we recognise there is a shared responsibility to ensure that there is continual engagement in raising mental health awareness throughout the year, and not just during Mental Health Awareness Week.
