Sisk Award recognises Construction Management excellence at WIT
Declan Gahan, Senior Contracts Manager with John Sisk & Son, was in WIT today to present the annual Sisk Award for Excellence in Research & Project Management. The award recognises outstanding performance in the final year Dissertation on the BSc (Hons) in Construction Management & Engineering.
The award winners and their Dissertation topics were as follows:
1st – Stephen Sullivan: The Impact of Organisational Culture on Quality Performance in Construction
2nd – Ciarain Walsh: Managing Risk on Medium-Scale Construction Projects
3rd – Craig Brown: Soft Skills in Construction Project Management
Having recently completed their final exams, the winners gave a brief presentation outlining the main findings of their research, followed by discussion with those in attendance. Declan congratulated the students on the completion of their Dissertations and wished them the very best in their careers in the construction industry. Brian Graham, Lecturer in Construction Management, thanked Sisk for their continued sponsorship of the award and their long-standing support of the Construction Management & Engineering programme.
