Sips & Drips: A Cozy Corner for Community, Leadership & Learnings

Sips & Drips: A Cozy Corner for Community, Leadership & Learnings

One of my 2025 intentions (and experiments) is to create more—whether that’s through cooking, crafting, or writing. And since I love a good theme (and a well-organized Asana project), I’m making it official: Welcome to Sips & Drips.

Picture this—a (virtual) cozy corner in your favorite coffee shop, deep in conversation with people who get it. Talking community, unpacking what makes a great leader, sharing takeaways from your latest podcast obsession, or swapping your favorite ChatGPT prompts. So grab a cup, and let’s dive in.

Community

I love a good coffee shop adventure—especially when it leads me to BIPOC-owned gems. Recently, I discovered Cafecito in Denver (Montebello, to be exact), and they are so much more than a coffee shop. They’re a cultural hub for the Latino community—where everyone feels welcome. And let me tell you, they make a darn good cafecito. I’m dreaming of it as we speak.

Leadership

In leadership, words matter. The best leaders don’t run their teams—they support them. They create the conditions for their people to thrive, removing roadblocks, amplifying strengths, and ensuring they have what they need to succeed.

When you shift from “How can they help me?” to “How can I help them?”, you unlock higher engagement, deeper trust, and real innovation.

Here’s a simple but powerful leadership shift: Next time you introduce yourself and your team, try saying, “I support” or “I am part of,” instead of “I run” or “I’m in charge of.” It’s a small change that speaks volumes.

Learnings

During Covid, I leaned into Self Care Society—Danika Brysha and her team have completely transformed my routine, mindset, and approach to everything.

One of my favorite journaling prompts? End-of-month reflections. Imagine you’re working with an incredible, empowering coach—what would they say about this past month? Try this framework:

  • First, I want to celebrate ___________________.
  • You did so well with ___________________.
  • I noticed that _________________ .
  • You struggled with __________________________.
  • Next month, let’s put some energy towards ___________________.
  • You expanded through _______________________.
  • Just a reminder that _____________________.
  • Lastly, _____________________.

Quote of the Month

"What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead." — Nelson Mandela

Let’s keep the conversation brewing—drop your favorite local coffee shop, leadership insight, or latest learning in the comments!
