Meet the team | Jin Kamerling

I’m Jin Kamerling , and in September this year I joined Singletrack as International New Business Lead.

I’m originally from China but I moved to France for university, completing my studies in Paris with a master’s in financial engineering. From there, I worked in corporate treasury. My first job came with lots of travel and relocation: I worked in Paris initially, then New York, then Dublin. While I was working in Dublin I met my husband and we settled in London - I hope we’ll be here for a long time.

Singletrack is a really special company with a strong leadership team, and that attracted me to the role. As I started to get to know the business better, I saw a team of talented people and a business built on the foundation of their skills.?

My role here is ideal for me - looking after international new business across Asia and Europe means I can make the most of my language skills and my knowledge of business and culture in those areas. It’s very unusual to find a role like this which feels tailored to my skills and interests, and I love it.

It’s hard to describe an average day at Singletrack because they’re all so different, and I’m working across territories with very distinct business cultures. Sometimes it can feel like I’m swapping between different personalities - early in the morning, I’m my Chinese-speaking self, later in the day I might be working in French or in English. It’s challenging, but it’s also very exciting! Day-to-day, I really appreciate the rapport in the Singletrack team. I enjoy chatting with everyone, and I learn so much from my colleagues. I spend lots of time on the phone, writing emails and checking LinkedIn.?

Away from work I have a secret: I used to be a Chinese folk singer. While living in Paris, I was even invited by the Chinese embassy to sing for diplomats there. I don’t perform so much anymore, but I’m really good at karaoke - something the Singletrack team may discover at our upcoming Christmas party... I also enjoy horse riding and I love yoga.?

Whether it’s in English, Chinese or French, I’m looking forward to meeting and speaking to as many of you as possible - let’s chat!
