Single Issue European Voter

We're going out to vote again on Sunday, and when it comes to European Elections I almost become a single issue voter: The Environment. When it comes to internal Portugal elections that's one of many issues that matter to me, but in the European Parliament Elections, with the power and scope that the body has, I need them to focus on environmental issues.

I deeply hope that more people think like me, that they look at the choices European Parties make and vote accordingly. This Election defines the Parliament for 6 years. Many of the targets the EP has set are for 2030, so this is the parliament that will be implementing them, that will see them come to fruition. If there is any time to focus on this issue so heavily it is now.

As such in Portugal, the parties that have chosen to be part of the Parties here defined as "Protectors" are: Livre, PAN, PEV (Greens/EFA), BE, PCP (The Left), PS (S&D). I would recommend doing this kind of analysis where you are as well, because as much as we're voting for the local party, we are also voting for the European Parliament Alliance they are a part of.
