In an era where the digital revolution seems to be gaining momentum faster than we can quantify, it's becoming imperative for every business owner and professional to consider new growth hacking strategies.
I come across many coaches and consultants who are extremely skilled and brilliant at what they do. Both their products and/or professional services certainly help make the marketplace and the world better. The only trouble is, they really struggle to consistently win over new business.
Most of the high performing individuals I interact with have various degrees, lot's of experience from their corporate years and certainly know their field of expertise really well!
Some even spend a fortune trying to get promoted on big media outlets hoping fame will produce magic inside their coaching or consulting business! But fame doesn't necessarily bring about cash flow, so don't be fooled!
Yeah. This self-taught, self-made mompreneur has certainly come a long way from the ghetto days. And I get to serve some brilliant minds but the only limitation with these brilliant difference makers is their inability to adapt to our rapidly changing world.
I am certain you will agree with me that helping your client as a coach and consultant is the number one driving factor for you. But how do you help people solve their problems and grow a thriving business when you can't even fill your calendar?
There's nothing sexy or impactful about a coach or consultant who radiates desperation, a need for attention and poverty mentality. But that's a subject for another article.
But... If you sense you might be unwittingly running on a lack and scarcity mindset, this might help you gain some new awareness.
However, for this article I want us to focus on the awesome opportunity that lies before you.
The key to predictable, consistent growth in your business is a balanced strategy that blends referrals, prospecting, relationship building and content marketing.
No man can become rich without himself enriching others.
Andrew Carnegie said that... Many years ago. Yet it's become even more relevant in our modern society than ever before!
Are you investing your time, energy and resources in enriching others first?
Today, I want to share with you 3 major problems that you might be facing, which could be effortlessly resolved through employing one single strategy into your business.
Problem #1 that makes it tough for you to do what you love and still enjoy increased profits, cash flow, and a great ROI:
How do I find more people who are interested in paying for my services and buying what I sell?
You see regardless of how good and highly educated you are, your income is tied directly to the number and quality of people you reach, who are interested in what you're selling.
And trust me, if you can reach more of the right people and establish a nurturing relationship with your clients, you can and will naturally increase in all the right ways.
I'll show you how in just a few seconds. First, let's talk about the second problem.
Problem #2 that makes it so hard for you to help people and still increase your profits, cash flow, and ROI:
How do I make people genuinely interested in buying my stuff without being salesy?
I don't know about you but all that hoopla and show-offy style of selling, or even that pushy approach to selling really don't resonate with me.
What resonates with me is what I call "attraction marketing".
I spend a lot of time with Internet marketers creating high-value content for them simply because even individuals in that industry are starting to recognize that all those hard-nosed sales tactics you see most people using simply won't work in 2017.
And finally...
Problem #3 that totally creates a block between your desire to do good in the world and having an executive lifestyle with all the time and money freedom you long for:
How can I do it again, and again, and again, so that I can build a solid 5 or 6 or even 7 figure business {depending on your goals}?
This one is a doozy!
Honestly, I am still work in progress with this one as well.
Given my record of making money and dissipating it soon after, I certainly have a lot of growth to do when it comes to mastering the "scaling of a business". Why else do you think I am investing a huge amount of my time and resources in private masterminds with some of the "big boys" in the digital business space?
I'm aware of my missing skills in financial intelligence. So a girl's gotta do, what a girl's gotta do!
Anyway...
I'm *falling into a rabbit hole here so let me not do an "Alice in Wonderland" right now and instead get back to showing you the single best way to solve all three problems simultaneously.
Let me set the stage for you and add a little lip gloss to this conversation:
The single best way for any executive consultant or coach to increase profits, cash flow and enjoy a great ROI is through digital marketing – more specifically high-value content marketing.
As many major experts have suggested, it is currently one of the best ways for you to do what we call "attraction marketing" which helps you build a high-value client base of people who certainly appreciate and reward you for the service you offer them – naturally.
It's called the natural universal law of Cause and Effect.
Nooooo. I'm not just making that up. Ask any thriving business person and they will confirm this too even if they use different terminology.
As recently as a few years ago, professional services could still get away with limited inbound marketing. However, thanks to an ever-lengthening sales cycle, increased costs for traditional marketing, and let's face it - all the noise Internet marketers and social entrepreneurs are making - those of us who are in it for the bigger picture need to make sure we stand out and continue to reach those who do need our solutions.
Technology is shifting the power away from traditional media elite, including editors and publishers, and moving this power towards individual voices. Your business can and should be in control of its own PR.
Content marketing is the “new normal”.
I ought to write an entire article just from that one statement. Hmmm. Watch out for that one :-)
But seriously... It needs to become your new norm.
It’s not enough for your business to be on board with marketing; it needs a strategic approach to integrating content marketing with existing promotional efforts.
How creative are you with your content creation and marketing campaigns?
This requires a fundamental change in thinking: inbound marketing is not a series of “blast emails” but a true content campaign. Blogs are not places for static content; they can – and should – be PR machines.
The content on your blogs should be re-channeled through social networks that are branded to very specific target audiences {What in my boutique agency we call - your dream client}.
Let's back up a bit...
Do you have clarity on what content marketing is?
Content marketing is the process of creating content that customers and clients want or need.
Read that piece again....
Notice the bolded statement! It's not about you showing off how good you are and all the wonderful achievements you have. All that is cute, but no one really cares about you.
Everyone is too busy caring about "their own needs and pains".
If you can switch from being so egocentric to being more customer-centric, you'll become one the highest paid consultant in the online space.
Let's dive a bit deeper into content marketing so you can see how fast you can increase profit and ROI without running yourself into the ground.
This is my sweet spot as the queen of transformational content creation.
At its very core, content marketing is any format that involves the creation and sharing of media and publishing content in order to acquire ideal clients and may include everything from thought leadership to branded content.
Content marketing is how you attract buyers and bring them to your company, rather than pushing, shoving and manipulating others to reach that end result.
When you learn to be very creative with the manner in which you plan, create and execute your content creation and marketing efforts, the digital space becomes an infinite ocean of possibilities.
You will literally go from the desert life {waiting on manna to drop from heaven} into the promised land where everything you do has a Midas touch effect.
There's a second part to this article that's going to prove to you some amazing statistics that big data and research companies have revealed, just so you can see how much you're currently limiting your ability to turn your tiny business into a massive profit machine.
However, for now, check out this very creative example of how content can become creatively executed to grow your business. Bear in mind that this approach is one of many ways we have created for clients to leverage digital marketing as a way of employing attraction marketing and minimizing cost while maximizing ROI.
I do have a little food for thought that can help you immediately solve all three problems stated above through content creation and marketing...
Effective content marketing starts with a simple question: “What do our buyers want or need?”
Once your consulting business can answer this question, profitable digital marketing will be one great content creation and campaign away.
Stay tuned for the last part of this where you get to see what your dream clients prefer to receive from you before they can willingly hand in their credit card.
Nope, it's not coming from me but from *the smarticles a.k.a big data and research guys!
PS:
I think it's only fair to share my personal dictionary definitions right? I mean don't you just get pissed off when someone uses some unknown phrase and doesn't even care to express the meaning behind it? Soooo annoying!
Okay, here goes.
* falling into a rabbit hole{Alice in Wonderland} - I'm a big hopeless romantic and fairy tale lover. Yes, there's no redeeming me on that one. So naturally, the reference comes from the fairy tale of Alice in Wonderland.
* the smarticles - what I call smart individuals who exude an aura of intelligence, mastery and a light humor that resonates with me.
Given my ghetto background, it's basically everyone, I work with or learn from :-)

7 年Hi Janette, great article and really useful advice. I'm a BIG fan of inbound marketing and we have just gone down the Hubspot route at Successfactory to align our offering and approach down the same lines you are recommending. Totally agree with empathy, we like using empathy maps as a tool to get into our clients world and then help them solve their challenges. I think mindset and confidence play a big part too. My partner Nicola Huelin does amazing work in this area with Mumpreneurs - you need to connect.
