Singapore’s Army is Leveraging Smart Technology

Singapore takes smart measures to upgrade the operations of the army camps by integrating smart digital technologies to optimise the army's administration, managerial and operational channels; while freeing up more time and saving money and resources. The smart camp project is piloted in all departments of the camps, including the weaponry, check-in kiosks, cookhouses, workshops and more.?

The army will be using applications to access camp units, training information and other servicepeople-related information; therefore, all army officers are enabled with the chance to use a centralised information unit on the go. Scanning technologies are also naturalised into the army camps to help the soldiers scan in and out their weaponry, gadgets and other equipment efficiently.

Driving innovation will allow Singaporean army establishments to train better, save resources, use smart skill development tools, and make smarter administrative decisions effectively. It is said that leveraging digital technology is a progressive success story that will allow all army camps across Singapore to be fully-integrated and advanced by 2025. The most recent upgrades will be implemented in the Stagmont Camp in the following year and Kranji and Clementi Camps in 2024.
