Sing! // Psalm 59:16
By Mark Jordan
I like to say that music has the ability to penetrate the scar tissue of the soul. I think it’s a beautiful thought to sing joyfully each morning about God’s unfailing love. Sometimes we sing in all-out worship. Other times we find ourselves singing with joy because of the promise that our problems will not last forever. God is a refuge in your trouble and a place of safety in distress. That verse alone dispels the notion that life with God is trouble free; yet we are still called to sing with joy. So, sing to celebrate. Sing to remind yourself of God’s goodness. Sing to keep from crying. Regardless how you feel, and however you choose to do it, sing!
