EVENTS from history 1922: The public meeting is held at Umarkot by the local branch of Khilafat Committee. Speakers through light on the importance of politics from religious point of view and they advised people to take part in politics in the greater interests of Islam, nationalism and society. (Source: The Daily Alwahid, Karachi). 1934: The ‘Chand’ Newspaper condemns the event of murder of Nathoram by Gazi Abdul Qayoom Khan in court and writes that Nathoram was translator and publisher of book written against the Prophet of Islam. The book was written and published in Punjab where no action was taken against publisher and writer in the light of decision of court. Whereas in Sindh translator and publisher is killed in the court much before any decision is taken by the court. Sindhi Hindus must take it seriously and keep in mind that they will not get any fair treatment from Sindhi Muslims.
