1842: British Agents are very much in the political and social affairs of Sindh and Baluchistan. Differences are witnessed between Khan of Kalat and other Chiefs such as Beejar Khan Darya Khan. Negotiations are initiated by British (Government of India) Agents and progress is reviewed and discussed in their correspondence. 1939: Punjab Government issues a communiqué containing a warning that firm action, including the enforcement of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, would be taken, if necessary, against the organizers of Kisan Satyagraha in Lahore. (Source: Indian Annual Register, Vol-1, 1939).
1948: Quaid-i-Azam, the Governor-General of Pakistan leaves for Ziarat to experience his Eleventh Hour of his life. Liaquat Ali Khan, the prime Minister, get chance to lookafter affairs regarding governance till Jinnah breathe his last. Major decisions relating to governance are taken by the Prime Minister during Quaid’s stay at Ziarat. (Source: Newspapers).
1951: In a meeting of migrants at Lahore, it is decided to convene ‘Muajreen Convention’ so as to discuss the problems being faced by Muhajreen and apprise the Government of their difficulties. (Source: Ibd).
