Since when was it wrong to call someone?

Having been in the telecom industry for such a long period of time, I guess I missed the informal plan to eliminate people from having 2-way/interactive conversations. Our society and the technology that supports it, has moved away from the basic human task of having a conversation. We now live in an environment that no longer supports having 2 way conversations.

Every day, I have discovery calls with business after business to design and deploy new technologies to help create efficiencies and reduce operational expense. We spend a great deal of time discussing and building models that include "live" call interaction with consumers. Somehow, we have replaced most live communication with a text or an email, which I believe is at the root of the problem to replace voice communication.

When you look at your business, think about what and how your business started and how it has become successful. Your customers are the most important part of your evaluation, so include that experience into all of your decisions. Hopefully, that will include having a voice call as opposed to simply sending a text or email. Don't get me wrong, technology will continue to shape and drive business, but we must continue to embrace the core values that has made a clients business a success.
