The Sin of Prayerlessness

The Sin of Prayerlessness

“One of the great uses of?social media will be to prove at the Last Day that prayerlessness was not from lack of time.” John Piper

Prayer is the lifeline of a Christian. Many of us have lost our destinies, ministries, calling, careers & faith because of failing to pray. Failing/refusing to pray is tantamount to telling God to His face that you do not need His help.

"As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right". 1 Samuel 12:23

The prophet Samuel knew that his destiny as a priest & a prophet could only be sustained by prayer. When Israel turned against God & demanded a king like other nations around them, he committed himself to ALWAYS pray for them. He described prayerlessness as sin & we should also see it as such.

God is not a blessing machine. He is seeking a relationship with us through fellowship in prayer. No earthly father would be happy to be associated with a child who only comes to him when they need something. God loves you. He wants you to know Him. Take time to talk to Him.

Luke 18:1, "... always pray and never give up."

1 Thessalonians 5:17, "Never stop praying."

Zechariah 12:10, '...Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem..."
