ESTECO acquires Optimad Engineering: ESTECO is a company providing software solutions for multidisciplinary optimization, simulation, and data management. OPTIMAD Engineering specializes in advanced engineering, reduced-order modeling, and CFD. With Optimad's CFD solutions and optimization under its umbrella, ESTECO can now offer more comprehensive and advanced solutions to its customers, particularly in industries where these technologies are critical, such as aerospace, automotive, and energy.
Altair and Oasys: Altair and Oasys have partnered to create a seamless solution for safety simulation modeling in the automotive industry. Oasys, part of Arup, is a global team of designers and consultants focused on sustainable development. Together, they aim to offer customers a smooth workflow between Altair? HyperWorks?, a design and simulation platform, and Oasys PRIMER, a tool for preparing and adjusting crash safety analysis models.
By combining their respective strengths—Altair’s design and simulation platform with Oasys’s expertise in crash safety analysis—the partnership aims to streamline the workflow for automotive engineers. We might say that this is a move that emphasizes both companies' commitment to innovation and sustainability in an industry where safety is most important.

Armand Gustav "Mondo" Duplantis, the Swedish-American pole vaulter has done it yet again!!?
After securing the gold medal in Olympics 2024, the champion improved the world record in the 2024 Diamond League, for the tenth time in his career and the third time in 2024 by one centimetre, increasing the world record to 6.26 m.
Pole vaulting is a complex and physically demanding event in sports. The combination of speed, strength, and technique required to vault over a high bar makes it a challenging event to master. In recent years, physics-based simulation has become a helpful tool for athletes and coaches looking to improve performance and prevent injury. This blog explores the role of physics-based simulation in pole vaulting, the tools used, and the techniques that are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the sport.
The Role of Physics-Based Simulation in Pole Vault
Physics-based simulation refers to the use of computational models to replicate the physical dynamics of the pole vault. These simulations consider the athlete's body mechanics, the pole's material properties, and the interaction between the athlete and the pole throughout the vault. The primary goals of these simulations are to ?Improve technique, Equipment Design and Injury Prevention :
Simulation Tools and Techniques
Several advanced tools and simulation techniques are employed in the analysis and optimization of pole vaulting:
