Simply Reaching Out To Your Customers Can Save Your Business.

Are you worried about your business during the Corona Virus? If you are, you're not alone.

I have been snooping around in the business groups here on LinkedIn and see many people almost panic posting and asking what they should do now that they are closed or can't work with clients.

If you find yourself feeling the same way, here a few things you can do while you are in lockdown.

Reach out to your customers/clients and ask how they are doing. Not only will this make them feel good but it also keeps your business/name on there mind.

They are also likely to tell all their friends and family how nice it was for _________ to call and check-in, etc.

Ask for testimonials or even better, a case study that you can use for your website and/or marketing materials.

If you are going to ask for testimonials, prepare 3 questions and let them talk. Take the emotion out of it so you can open your mind and heart to what they are saying. They could provide business saving advice.

Something to consider when asking questions is to not leave it open-ended. This really applies when you ask something like "is there anything you don't like about ….".

Most people don't want to be the one who puts your business down or wants to make you feel bad, especially when they already think you're going through enough.

Instead, really dig deep and think about an area of your business that you're not happy with and can be improved.

Now you can ask more of an open-ended question like "I feel like I/we could improve on...…, would you agree or are you happy with ……."?

This now puts them in an advisory role and takes that yucky feeling of putting somebody down away and you can get some honest feedback.

Now that you have put them in this role of "helping" they will be more likely to open up and give you more information. Very valuable information.

Finally, ask if they would like to see you offer a certain product or service. You never know, they could hand you an idea that you would have never thought of.

Many business owners have NEVER had this much time to work ON their business so take advantage of it. Check-in and get that feedback. It will set you apart from your competition, guaranteed.

Oh, and if you've read this far and don't have any contact information on your customers/clients. This is now your homework.

Think of ways to get it as soon as your back in business. Not sure how..... simply ask.

Considering our current situation, I'm sure your customers will understand and be happy to provide a cell number or email address after this virus has passed.

You must, however, ensure that you will not spam or share their information with anyone.

I hope this post helped in some small way. Stay healthy and positive.
