Simply the Bast
This week we said goodbye to our colleague Corjan Bast a.k.a 'Chef' a.k.a 'Simply the Bast'. Please join me saying something nice to him in the comments below (it doesn't matter if you never met him in person).
Corjan and I joined the aNewSpring team at the same time, almost 5 years ago. We did many nice projects together and Corjan insisted on creating 'Ger's Learning Notes' and always helped with the production. One of the approaches that we kind of spontaneous developed was the 'marinade approach'. If one of us had an (early) idea we would ask each other to join a 'marinade moment'. We just explained our idea briefly to each other including concerns or missing elements and asked to put it into the marinade. Then, a few days later we did a follow-up to share how the idea had evolved while marinating. When a special colleague like Corjan leaves it always has two sides. It's sad to see him leaving and not be working together anymore. At the other hand I wish him to pursue his the career the way he wants. Corjan has put the decision for his next step 'into the marinade' and I'm convinced he will find his way in a successful way being the very creative marketeer and kind person he is.
I’m intrigued by the unconventional ingredients behind our customer success stories.

3 年Good luck with your new role Corjan and please stay in touch. You have great skills and are fun and professional at the same time.
I'm not a 100% sure, but I think I've worked longer with Corjan, in two different businesses, than anyone else in his or my career. I've seen him grow, as he has helped me do the same. I've seen his enthusiasm for new ideas remain borderline ecstatic, while the years take their toll on his peers. I can't give this guy enough recognition for his endless positivity. Thanks Corjan, and I'm not wishing you luck in your next step. With that attitude you won't need it!
