Simplifying the way you build, deploy, and manage applications on ANY cloud.

Introducing Radius: The NEW Open Platform for Cloud-Native Applications.

Radius meets application teams where they are by supporting proven technologies like Kubernetes, existing infrastructure tools including Terraform and Bicep, and by integrating with existing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) systems like GitHub Actions.

Many customers build higher-level abstractions over Kubernetes, mainly for compute, to deal with its shortcomings. Developers also discover that their applications need more than Kubernetes. Besides these challenges for developers, their corporate IT counterparts also have to follow a growing and complex set of corporate standards, compliance, and security requirements, while still enabling quick application innovation.

Collaboration is essential for developers, platform engineers, and IT operators: enterprises have specialized roles like sec-ops, fin-ops, and cloud centers of excellence to handle the cloud complexity. Application developers have to interact with all of these roles, and the tools they use should facilitate, not hinder collaboration.

With Radius, you can:

  • Define your applications using simple YAML files, without worrying about the underlying infrastructure or platform details
  • Deploy your applications to any cloud with a single command, whether it’s private cloud, Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services
  • Manage your applications with a unified dashboard, where you can monitor their performance, troubleshoot issues, and scale them as needed
  • Use built-in support for common services like API front ends, key-value stores, caches, and observability systems

Radius is one of the many open-source innovations from the Microsoft Azure Incubations team, which also includes Dapr, KEDA, and Copacetic. These projects are part of Microsoft’s commitment to driving innovation and empowering businesses with cutting-edge AI solutions.
