Simplifying & golden rules

Simplifying & golden rules

Last week I shared with you how I was feeling rather frazzled … ?even being busy with lots of good stuff (and grateful for it) … it's OK to just admit & accept I was tired!

Which is what I did!

But after this crunch point … I started to reflect on what triggered this situation for me … and led me down the path of being over tired, feeling stuck on the small details and ultimately over thinking to the point of analysis paralysis!

And I realised something important (possibly not earth shattering) but it made a lot of sense as to why I was feeling this way.

So what are my golden rules?

  1. Friends and family always comes first
  2. Don't sweat the small stuff (work in progress!)
  3. Count my blessings & look for the JOY & Silver Linings!?

I know myself well enough now to recognise that when I'm not honouring these core values - things feel like they are spiralling and I need to bring it back.

So this is what I did:

  • I cancelled my much loved Pilates class (this is so important to my wellbeing, but this was a ball I could drop.
  • I moved a catch up with a friend (who I knew would understand and not mind moving this) to a later date … which freed up some space for me to breathe.
  • Reminded myself how much I'm loving doing the work I'm doing - I'm probably delivering an Enneagram workshop to 70 people whilst you're reading this! - ?and I needed to prioritise this.

Stripping back and simplifying things meant I could really look at the priorities - ?I needed that week with so much going on.

I also sat down and talked to my husband Tim, because sharing with someone who 'gets it' helps bring things ?into perspective.

Sometimes it's giving yourself the permission to NOT be everything to everyone and prioritise what you?really need?in that moment/day/season.

So my question to you today is this … what are your?golden rules?

How are these shaping you to curate a lifestyle and environment that is helping you to thrive - and have the MoJo you need to focus on what is going to move the needle most in your life right now?

It's also a reminder to give yourself permission to simplify and say 'no for now' (note this is not forever), so that you can honour the season or moment you're in.

And always, give yourself a huge amount of grace in the process.

Until next week - wishing you a Happy Easter (now there's a reason to smile!)!

Love,

Joanne
