Simplify To Multiply

Simplify To Multiply

Have you ever tried to scale up your business or your personal life? You start to take on a lot more commitments, meetings, dinners, events and responsibilities and before long you become overwhelmed. You feel the stress rising and your relationships, your quality and productivity all drop until you either burn out, reduce your expectation back down to somewhere near where it was OR you implement process and strategy to continue on your growth trajectory.?

There is a good reason for why office spaces and beautiful homes are clean and tidy, it’s because it’s a proven process for efficiency. Look at Scandinavian design, Marie Kondo or Feng Shui, it all incorporates a clear strategy to help you keep a clear mindset to be able to stay calm, happy and organised. One of the biggest causes of burnout in corporate jobs is over expectation, whether that comes from yourself or your manager, stakeholder or shareholder. Trying to multiply without adding simple steps, processes and procedures in place makes you go into overdrive to try and keep up with the demands. Think about it like constructing a building. If you order all of your steel work and all of your tradesmen to turn up on the same day, you’re already in for a struggle to organise it. Now think, what if you also didn’t order the crane, the crane driver or spend time explaining how the steel works are going to be put in place and crucially, where they should all go. Perhaps on paper you may feel like you’re growing, you’re multiplying because all your materials and people power are on site, but realistically you’ve gone backwards, over exposed yourself and cost time and money.

Invest in yourself first. Take a look at ‘the girl who simplifies’ and ‘clutter control’. Look at your own life and think about how you can enhance your environment now so you can multiply in the future. Remove the haze, increase your productivity and efficiency so you can achieve maximum output, whilst maintaining your relationships and using your new foundation to build your commitments out. Interior environments have a huge impact on our lives but we fail to put ourselves first and instead, pay the price later on. Simplify your surroundings to multiply the space in your mind.
