THE SIMPLIFIERS

THE SIMPLIFIERS

Friends,

We’re two entries into a running conversation about knowing yourself.? So far, we have talked about the outspoken and the supporting cast.? If neither of these options sound like you, don’t worry.? Today’s focal point just might.

Without further ado, meet the simplifiers.

As their nickname implies, they are adept at making things simple.? It doesn’t matter how long it takes or how cryptic the information may seem, these people have a special ability to clarify the complexities of life.

And, that means, simplifying is the net they carry.? If you’re new to my articles, nets are the gifts we already have that make us resourceful.? More specifically, your net is a special ability you received from God that makes you shine when interacting with others.

For today’s category of people, they come alive in teachable moments.? Spill a drink.? Trip over an uneven part of a sidewalk.? Score the winning points in an athletic competition.? No matter what scenario they experience with others, they can extract wisdom to make something else especially clear.

The qualities of these superheroes get even better.? They’re wired to learn and reproduce information in digestible pieces.? Whereas many prefer the shortest journey possible to knowledge, these people are willing to dive deep into a subject matter for the long haul, especially if it means they acquire new knowledge.

Am I talking about you?

If I am, let me express how awesome you are!? God designed you intentionally, and you’re supposed to thrive in all the ways I described.? You add value to others by transforming challenging material into simple, easily understood terms.

As I shared, this part of you came from God.? If you don’t know who He is, that part of you underscores what He’s like.? It’s like a birthmark He gave you, hoping you’d find your way back to Him.

My favorite book about God, the Bible, mentions the simplifiers in the passage included below:

So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us. If our gift is to speak God's message, we should do it according to the faith that we have; if it is to serve, we should serve; if it is to teach, we should teach (Romans 12:6-7, GNT).

The simplifiers are those who teach.?

Whether you think of yourself in this manner or not is another topic.? From God’s point of view, however, you are just that.? He made you so others can benefit from your ability to teach and make complex things simple.

Interestingly, what you were created to do is what the verse listed above encourages you to do.? Teach, which is much easier when you:

  1. Get the education. Learning is a must for the simplifiers, and that often means significant periods of time diving into content.? Fortunately, this part of the journey also brings great joy to simplifiers.? Spend time learning what you don’t already know, but that’s not the end of the journey. That leads me to the next step.
  2. Get the experience. What you learn has to be validated.? In other words, you need experiences to test whether the information you received really works.? Don’t shun this step because it’s often not fun.? These experiences create the conviction a simplifier needs to communicate in an irresistible manner.

Once again, I have to conclude this conversation.? I had a blast sharing about the simplifiers.? They are intentionally designed to clear up the complexities in life.? When they get education and experiences, they convey concepts with conviction that make learning a breeze!

That leaves four more net carriers to discuss.? I’ll be back soon with the next one.? In the interim, if you want to talk further about the simplifiers, reach out to me at [email protected].? I welcome the opportunity to help simplifiers understand their unique design and thrive in ways God always intended.

Talk to you later.? And, simplifiers, please remember:

You are a net carrier.

You have a special ability, given by God, to simplify very complex material.

Get the education.? It helps you master new concepts.

Get the experience.? It helps prove what you were excited to learn.

Teach people what you know, combining the content with conviction, until they reach their highest potential!
