Simplicity
Over the years I have been involved in many building systems, from oak frame and stone, though to traditional brick and block, different timber frames methodologies and am now dealing with SIPs, or Structural Insulated Panels.
The core principle of a standard SIPs build is so inherently simple, almost too simple in its methodology, as the diagram below demonstrates, but it delivers in both performance and aesthetic, because it allows for large vaulted areas and gives the Architect far more scope to do something exciting.
Our customers continually challenge us with designs that almost defy the laws of physics, but utilising SIPs, Glulam and steel we have yet to be beaten and have always delivered the vision.
I know I am being ever so slightly disingenuous calling this simple, because we put a lot of design and engineering know how into making it look simple, and like everything, when all the associated infrastructure goes in it adds some interesting challenges, but the basis of this build system is simple, and flexible, in what it can deliver, and continually surprises me the spaces it has the capacity to create.
From years working in property development one of the key drivers was always speed, and SIPs is without doubt the fastest system I have worked with, and leaves a great substrate for the follow on trades.
We are looking to arrange some open days and factory visits, so if you want to learn a little more about SIPs and what we do, please feel free to get in touch.
