Simplicity is getting lost now a days

Simplicity is something that can come to you naturally or through learning . It is something which if not god gifted can be attuned easily if you demystify yourself(getting a clearer image of yourself always help to get a limpid vision of the world). So it looks as if simplicity is easy to attain and sustain. But what about the people who perceive it?There lies the story.
The people around you,the people whom you meet and see around yourself now and then,it may be one of those friends who bully you in college or may be the grape vines in the office or at random anyone who takes advantage of your similitude. Yes,they are the people who subconsciously affect your simplicity. You take lessons and beseech yourself to give away the simpler ways and become wiser.Just there, you get it wrong because even sparing a thought at this useless thing make you move away from simplicity, let alone amending your ways.Remember, you are not what people make out of you instead you are a product of your own equation of rights and wrongs.
All you need is to develop the ability to identify the tricksters (those people), simple, rather letting simplicity abscond you because believe me its the only thing that will take you out of the most complicated conundrums. Would you really like to go back to coal lamp or candles, outdoor facilities, horse transportation, wood cooking stove, tub and washboard laundry, wash water from the creek or well, no fridge, and no malls ? That, simple living, is for the past, but if one is content, then this simple living is the norm today. No am not saying technologically we should reject the modernisation but try to remain simple in spite of things around you which you could control.
Being born in early 50's, I belong to one of those generations who have witnessed the technological development and changes probably like no other generation. We have used the audio cartridges that were bigger in size than today's iPods or other hand held music players, we have lived the times of just one television channel and still got scolding from parents for watching too much of TV, we have queued outside the STD/ISD shop just to be able to speak to our relatives and we have literally seen the birth of internet and social media. From then till now, we have come a long way, still a common phrase that we often share with our friends is "Those simple times were the best", is this really true? Or is simplicity overrated?
In order to answer this rather simple question, we must go through a relatively complex analytical process starting with defining 'simple' in actual sense. It occurs to me that simplicity itself is quite subjective, a mathematical equation seemingly simple to a scientist might be overtly complex for others. My wife, who is a complete food lover and never hesitates trying new cuisines, often says to me that no matter what she eats, but she finds real taste in simple daal roti (lentils and Indian bread). Now it could be a disagreeable and debatable topic for most, but at the core most people would agree to the fact that things are best understood and enjoyed when they are simple.

Now let's try and look at this from a deeper perspective, we simply love and adore kids, specially our own kids, what could be the common factor driving this universal affinity? Kids are cute and they do cute and simple things, they say simple things, they seek simple pleasures, a toy could bring more joy to a kid's life than a promotion to our lives, and we all find this kind of behaviour really attractive, doesn't this kind of re-instates that we humans are more likely to enjoy and appreciate simplicity.
Having established a few pro simplicity arguments, now let's look at the scientific and logical aspect as well, which might force us to believe otherwise. What happens when a glass full of water falls from the edge of a table? The glass breaks, the water splashes and pieces of glass and drops of water cover all the floor. Why does this happen? Can this process be reversed? The answers are 'because of entropy' and 'no' respectively. Entropy in simple words is the degree of disorder and entropy of the universe is always increasing.
Water in glass looks like a simple arrangement of matter than the broken glass and spilt water over the floor, yet given a chance, the natural course of movements would force this shift from a simple to complex arrangement. What could this mean? Is this some kind of universe's cosmic conspiracy to promote complexity over simplicity? And even if this is the case, why does it contradicts with our sensible natural instincts of finding simplicity more attractive?
However, probably this is where the disconnect and separatism of materialistic and conscious universe comes in picture. No matter how much materialistic world around us falls for complexity, yet our inner conscious driven desires always relish simplicity. This is what makes us what we are - humans. We feel more than we interact, we just remember to appreciate the good taste rather going down to complex details of acidic activities and digestion, we feel and like or dislike movies completely disregarding the complex projection and streaming aspects, and we simply love the way we are than to keep thinking about finer granularities of our evolution cycle that made us what we are. Cheers!

2 年We have all technology, in future we will get more...but day by day we are loosing simplicity, someday will come when we will be tired by using technology... kids also tech savvy (thanks to Covid and online classes), even they don't have so much time to talk to their family members. life is so fast and we will be finished too fast..

3 年Simplicity is there when you are a child . It is we as adults , for whatever reason , have made it a form of complexities .
