The Simple take on Real Estate?

A year ago we made the move to dive deeper into understanding the topic that arguably sits the closest to family offices - investments and asset classes. With that, we started on the newer classes, namely digital assets, and we did a deep dive into sustainability and impact investments.

This month saw the launch of our Real Estate Review as this is such a staple asset class in many a family office portfolio. We also felt it was important to pick this up at a time when there’s so much uncertainty that we cannot even rest on traditionally-reliable real estate being a hedge.

We can divide real estate and family offices into roughly two major camps. Those invested, and often this is actually where we see a family office that’s linked to the real estate company. And then, surprise surprise, those who are not. This could be tech entrepreneurs or other family offices that simply have not had the opportunity to get into the real estate space (which has nothing to do with the average millennial that might never own a home).

Our goal with the review was to make sense of the space, and the provider landscape (including tech providers) and then identify any opportunities using our sustainability and impact lens - something we see as a non-negotiable for the next generation of owners.

Happy reading!

Best,

Francois & the Simple Team?
