The Simple Understanding of Climate Change – I (Introduction)
Introduction
Continuous increase of greenhouse gases in Earth’s atmosphere, consequential rise in surface and ocean temperatures and the subsequent negative impact to overall ecosystem is a threat to overall sustenance of life.
? Understanding Climate Change Processes – not in cyclic order
Greenhouse Gas (GHG): ?The gases in atmosphere that traps heat. Carbon Dioxide is the primary constituent (76%, IPCC data of 2014, compiled by US Environmental Protection Agency). Majority of these greenhouse gases are caused due to human activities as depicted below. ?Electricity and Heat productions especially from fossil fuels is the biggest contributor closely followed by Agriculture &forestry, transportation, and all other manufacturing industries.
Out of all the greenhouse emissions, cities are responsible for 75% of those (UN environment programme)
