Goal-setting for most people happens on many levels.?We have personal goals, business goals, short-term goals, and long-term goals.?When we set business goals, it’s important to set both long-term and short, and almost every business goal is tied to a personal goal.
At Encore Empire, we focus on the whole person. Any achievement you make, be it personal or business-related, is going to affect all aspects of your life.?If you want to double your revenue in your business, achieving that goal will affect your personal income for the better.
We teach our clients to use this simple three-step process:
Begin by futurecasting what your business will look like three years from now.
Three years out: This is a big goal. Ideally, what will your business look like three years from now? Will you have a team? How many and what roles will they occupy? Brainstorm here. Write everything you can think of without censoring yourself.
Now, let’s set your goals for two years from now. What will you need to have in place to reach your three-year goal?
Next, set your one-year goal. This is where we break things down and create the action plan to achieve this goal. Each year has four quarters. We use quarterly planning for our business and our client’s businesses. When you look at your annual goal, what are the four (or fewer) big steps you need to accomplish to achieve it?
Each one of those becomes a quarterly goal. Within our quarters, we have three months. What are the three (or fewer) big steps you need to accomplish your first quarterly goal? Those are your monthly goals. Within each month, we have a minimum of four weeks; what are the four (or fewer) steps you need to accomplish in order to achieve your monthly goal?
If you follow these three simple steps, you will have effectively futurecasted, set goals, and reverse-engineered how you’ll achieve your goals.
