Simple Things Spark Joy

Greetings from the height of “busy season” here at Triciapedia and in life.? We’re producing three live events this month, including our first ever bat mitzvah.? It is the end of the wild ride that is known as the Spring events season and we’ve been having a blast.? We’ve got a creative signature line circulating, we’re working at random hours, clocking the frequent flier miles, and we’re checking in on each other.
You know me, so you know that “details matter” is an unequivocal statement of fact in life and in work.? Here’s the story from our work that I’m sharing with everyone this month.? During our work with The Pipeline Fund on their national conference, I notice that the team was both entertained and motivated by my use of the term “homework” for the action items that came from our meetings.? Leaning into this, I responded to one email with “you did a great job, GOLD STAR!”? To which this person replied, “Yayyy one step closer to my end of year pizza party.”
Talk about LOL.
This terrifically fun response got me thinking…what small way could I bring some playful joy to the on-site event?? I decided to come prepared with some scratch-n-sniff stickers.? Can I tell you…these stickers were magic.? Each time I interacted with someone, I pulled a pile of them out of my pocket and the sheer delight on their face was nothing short of awesome.? I was reminded of two things:? first, each of us has the power to make someone else’s day.? And the second:
Simple things spark joy.
What simple thing can you do for yourself to spark joy?? What can you bring to others?
