A Simple Step to Minimise Disruption
Promising Outcomes
Improving your customer, employee and supplier relationships to grow loyalty, revenue, profit and reputation
Ignoring obvious danger is never a good strategy, in life or in business.?
But many companies are in a situation where employees are leaving in volume and it’s preventable.?Gallup’s 2024 State of the Global Workplace report highlighted the continual issue of poor employee engagement.
In terms of wellbeing, it explained that being actively disengaged at work can be the equivalent of being unemployed, in terms of the impact on employees’ mental health.
The potential commercial risks of employees being less engaged, or at worst disengaged, are sobering. Poor productivity and performance, within and across teams, threatens revenue and increases operational costs. A fractured employee experience undermines customer experience, resulting in a negative impact on revenue, profit and long-term value.
This engagement epidemic is all the more frustrating when there’s ample evidence that businesses which promote a healthy culture see the benefits translate to bottom line results and stakeholder value.
Turning this around may not require major change programmes and investment. Studies by Gallup and others indicate that 40%-50% of employee attrition could have been prevented, had managers been more effective communicators and simply taken time to talk with their teams and listen.
Executive awareness and support for change is essential. One way to achieve this is to understand your employees’ expectations and your performance against those expectations. This quickly highlights, and prioritises, where remedial action is required.
