"SIMPLE RIDE"

I sometimes as a music journalist and music reviewer have the real luxury of hearing all kinds of music artists and all music generes. With this in mind is another superstar in the making who is the artist it's Steve Condon and his new album called "Rode It To The Top" and what a tremendously awesome album and what a songwriter. As I started the album I heard the song called "Cincinnatti Rain" which features the incredible vocals of Miss Becky Hobbs and what a superb song the song took my mind back to the 70's but that's alright cause theres nothing wrong with that sound. It's refreshing to know that I am not the only one that enjoys this sound and Steve really brings that element to life on this wonderful song and with Becky Hobbs and her incredible voice that brings charm and a feeling of real ness if that's a word. The next song is called "If You Only Knew" where Steve carries that consistent sound tho this wonderful love song and his vocals reminded me of a Colin Raye in a way that has a range to an almost falcetto but is a really enjoyable and heltfelt song. "Lonely For Love" is the next song where Steve brings in his ablity to showcase that real acoustic sound and his prolific writing style and has a real pleasant sound to it. This song is probably my favorite on this wonderful album. Although the whole album really has a basic feel to it. The album maintains that level of down to earth kind of musicianship and I at times felt I was listening to the late Jim Croce because of the simpleness to it. "Never Let The Grass" is yet another smooth song and Steve's melodies and harmonies just bring that great sound so clear and real that I can't get enough of. Just when I told you that I had my favorite song on this album, well I changed my mind, the song called "Quietly" Steve just sinks the hole in one with this, the messages via his songwriting abilities ring true in this song. With this song being my first pick ofr a hit on the radio and where my ears and heart felt the goodness in this particular song, and I love this song, great and exciting, love it. The next song called "Rode It To The Top" Steve brings in a lovely harmony backed with real and clear lyrics and makes a sound that is unmatched in this world that we hear is autotuned musicians, but not for this guy named Steve Condon, he's real and wonderfulk & I love this album. It is very encouarging to me as a music journalist and music reviewer to know that there is someone like Steve that keeps that memory of time where music was music and we led a much simpler life, "Still Lots Of Country in the Boy" Steve, reinforces what I felt was a continual theme of this album, where there's "still lots of country in the Boy and one can tell by his way that his songs are written and sung. Steve really is a strong singer & songwriter where he projects that throughout this wonderful masterpiece album. Again with the wonderful production values added by legendary music producer Doc Holiday, one can't go wrong. Many many thanks and appreciation to Doc for his introduction to me and Steve Condon and his amazing music. Also a huge thanks to Steve Condon & the incredible vocals of Miss Becky Hobbs this album soared through my love line and is kept there always. What a huge incredible honor to write for such a talented music artist Steve Condon and in my opinion he has and will Ride it to the Top.
