Simple principles
I lost almost 10 kgs of weight in last 2 months using 3 simples principles. And I feel these 3 principles can be used to achieve anything significant.
Consistency - I did at least some exercise almost every day in last 2 months. I ate healthy and lesser calories (than required) every single day in last 2 month. My idea was to make small increments every single day. Consistency always wins over intensity.
Sustainable changes - When I started, I knew weight loss in a long journey and I'll be able to continue only if changes are sustainable. I chose a gym which is less than 200m from my home (to avoid traffic or other excuses to skip gym). I started playing badminton daily, a game which I anyways love. I reduced my food portions slowly, rather than avoiding my favourite foods completely. All these changes were sustainable for long duration.
Measure - Measure what matters. I measure my weight daily and keep a record of it. In initial days, I was also measuring my calories intakes , to make sure I am not consuming more than 1500 calories. Later, I got used to eating less, hence stopped measuring calories. I didn't measure how many hours I spent in gym/playing badminton or how many calories I burnt. I didn't feel the need for it.
In summary, consistent improvements which are sustained over a period of time, can bring great results. Don't forget to measure the improvements.
