A simple practice that can change your life

A simple practice that can change your life

This is your invitation to a really significant experience that is happening in October, in Melbourne. One of my very special friends, Peter Cook (whose sanskrit name is Sivananda), is running a meditation course. I often talk about him in workshops and programs so you’ve probably heard his name before. I first met him when he was the CEO of Thought Leaders Global, then have walked with him as my mentor and my friend. His purpose is to help people get what they want, do the work they are meant to do and live an extraordinary life. How cool is that? And he is very frickin’ good at it.?

He is also an Ishaya Monk. In fact, a black belt one. It’s a thing. It just means he has made a vow to living a life above the limits of the mind. To commit to a life of peace, no matter what is happening around him.?

Keep reading for a brief description of why to create a meditation practice, why this particular weekend, and what’s the unexpected bonus at this particular course.

?1. Why meditate

Tim Ferris reports in the Tools of Titans that 80% of the guests on his podcast (chosen as high performers in their fields) credit a regular meditation practice as key to their success. 80% is a pretty high number. But it’s a bit meaningless without knowing the percentage of the whole population that meditate.

?Then Sivananda did some digging. According to the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, 2% of the American population have a daily meditation practice. He’s pretty good at maths, so he can tell you with some authority that 80% is much bigger than 2%. Of course, correlation doesn’t necessarily mean causation, but this is still pretty compelling.

Meditation helps you be more present, and that in turn helps you perform better. (And make you happier. And healthier. And improves relationships).

?2. Why this weekend

This is the weekend where there will be 2 of the ‘black belts’ Ishaya Monks teaching. Aditi is coming over from New Zealand to teach the course with Sivananda. She’s an extraordinary teacher and human, and we’re very lucky to have her.

Aditi co-produced the documentary?A Mindful Choice , has been featured in?NZ Women’s Weekly , in this article about?trading in her corporate life for something better , and in?NZ House and Garden Magazine .

So while all the courses are special, this one is going to be extra special.

3. The unexpected bonus

Sivananda’s just finished writing a book called The Ascension Habit, all about how to establish your meditation practice so it sticks. And this course will be the launch of the book, and you’ll get one of the first ever copies as part of the weekend.

You’ll not only learn how to meditate, you’ll learn how to make the habit stick.

The details

I bet you’re thinking, something that does all of that must be really expensive.

Saturday October 7th from 10am – 4pm

Sunday October 8th from 10am – 4pm

It's at Sivananda’s house in Warrandyte. It’s a special place too.

You can register?here . I’ll be there and I’d really love to see you there.
